My Twisted Writer Brain…

Weekend RoundUp: A Week of Work, Editing, and Retreat

Hi Everyone. I hope you had a good week. For many of you it was a short week as Remembrance Day (aka Veteran’s Day) was an observed holiday this week.

I hope you were able to take a moment to reflect and appreciate our freedoms. I wrote this post specifically in memory of my dad and the day.

This week I’m deep into the revisions of a manuscript called Inside Outside. If you haven’t read the posts on editing then I highly suggest you do. These are invaluable in being able to move your manuscript and writing forward. See 4 Easy Steps and What to do Next.

It’s been a week of trying to get things done and not necessarily quite hitting the mark.

A few weeks back as I scrolled through Facebook, I came across an opportunity too good to pass up. It was a writing retreat for this week and someone had canceled… A rare spot was available. Without thinking I jumped at the opportunity and drove the 4.5 hours to the destination.

It is with this solitude and the surrounding writerly energy that I hope to complete my manuscript to the point of sending it off for a copyedit.

It’s funny how things happen when you’re open to them. Sometimes all we need to do is open the door.

Go ahead, open the door….
