Auntie Says..., My Twisted Writer Brain…

WWW Wednesday #70 Letting Go Isn’t Easy

If I seem a bit distracted these days, you’re not wrong.

My son just left for Japan. He’ll be gone for a year and while it is extremely wonderful and exciting, it’s very weird without him close by.

This is going to take some getting used to for sure.

Change isn’t easy.

I think back to my many adventures as a young person (and believe me, there were some doozies in there 🫣) and wonder what my parents thought at the time.

The one thing I do know is that they never held me back and though I’m sure I caused worry or concern at times, they were always supportive and never judgmental.

This is his journey. I’m blessed.

Here’s me and my son Parker in Ikeda, Japan in 2019.

I hope you’re having a wonderful day.

  1. One good thing, it’s not like the old days when away you would phone home once in a while and it was expensive. Now with the internet, email and cell phones, it’s easy to keep in touch and even videos to see what’s going on.
Do you know where Parker will go after Japan?

    1. Oh Heather! You are so right! Gone are the days of waiting for a letter or spending a fortune on phone calls! It’s so easy to connect with him even at such a distance.
I have no idea where he’ll go next but I’m excited for him. ❤️
