Happy, Happy October 31! All Hallow’s Eve… Such an exciting and always a memory-filled evening.
As a kid, I remember walking for blocks and blocks with a pillowcase. We were always warned about razorblades in apples, but never about the people behind the door who willingly doled out handfuls of sugary candy and who knows what?
Makes me wonder… Don’t take anything from a stranger, we were always warned. Stranger danger… etc etc. and yet annually we’d bang on strangers doors and take whatever they gave us… a little twisted perhaps?
We didn’t care though as we always went in a group and we’d go as far and as fast as possible.
The annoying thing was that Mom wouldn’t let us out the door until after the first trick-or-treaters came to our house. So funny actually.
Anyway, I was a kid who grew up in lower-economic circumstances and the lure of free candy to call my own was overwhelmingly exciting.
I’d hoard it in a small nook in my bedroom closet. Trying to hide it from others in the house who coveted the sweet treats.
Attempts to make it last as long as possible were difficult to follow-through on, as the candy bars were gobbled up immediately and even the less popular hard candies constantly called my name.
I remember counting it and keeping track, but alas, it was always gone too soon.
Does anyone remember those horrid goopy witch toffee… I can’t remember the name, but if memory serves, they were wrapped in a waxy paper (maybe black and orange…) with pix of hunch-backed black cats and broom-flying witches. 🤢
Makes me gag just to think about it. I sure hope they stopped making them.
Enjoy your night and be safe. 😊
What’s a Bookiversary?
Today is the publishing anniversary, October 31, 2024, of my debut novel INSIDE OUTSIDE. My E-Book was published November 1, 2024! (which is currently #58 on the US Amazon Contemporary Drama Bestseller list…)
The year has been an absolute whirlwind with lots of travel, exciting literary prizes, and great reviews.
I’m so thankful for the blessings and opportunities that allow me to write and create on a regular basis.
And, I’m so grateful to each and every one of you who’ve purchased, read, reviewed and supported me as an author and creative.
Here’s the Bookiversary Party!

And, Let’s Remember the World Series…
Well, the baseball series is back in Canada now.
The Toronto Blue Jays have won three games; LA Dodgers have won two games.
There are two games left in the series, but first team to win four takes the series… Sooooooo the Jays could take it tonight.
We’ll see what happens.
In the meantime, stay well...
