Writing contests are one of my favorite things to do when I have extra time. They can be challenging, but if you get an honorable mention, place, or win the sense of validation is huge.
The thing about contests is that you need to do your prep. It’s so important to do your homework before just going off to enter any old writing contest. Take a look here for TIPS to prep your entry and what to look for.
