Life moves so fast now that it can sometimes be difficult to keep up.

During the last week, I spent some time in Gibsons, on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. It’s a beautiful little community that’s fairly laid back and has the vibe of a seaside resort town.

Though I haven’t explored it completely, one spot I thought I knew was the Tim Horton’s parking lot. Well, wasn’t I delighted when my nephew says…”Hey Auntie, look at this!”

Well, a relic to be sure, but one that brought back some great memories. I have no idea how many times I drove by it and didn’t even notice it.

My sister says she used to use a phone booth to talk to her boyfriend. Hey, at home, there was one phone and ZERO privacy a pay phone was only 10 cents for as long as you wanted to talk. Definitely can’t say I blame her.

I remember being thankful years ago when I tripped upon a phone booth.

I was late and I knew people would be worried. In those days, I couldn’t just pull over and text or tap a button to communicate through my car! Nope, those booths came in very handy.

When was the last time you used a phone booth? Do you know where the nearest one to you is located?

Phone booth in Gibson’s in Tim Hortons/Wendy’s parking lot. I love how it’s tucked back and surrounded by trees. The phone was working, it was relatively clean, and available. You’ll notice there’s no large white/yellow pages hanging from it though.

Happy Wednesday. I hope you’re having a great week!
