There’s a woman on Instagram named Amy McNee who advocates openly for all creatives–find her here: InspiredToWrite — she’s wacky, she’s wonderful, and definitely a wee bit whimsical at times.
She’s from the UK and posts inspiring messages and get-off-your-ass advice for all creatives to share their talents with the rest of the world.
I suppose she’d technically be called an “influencer”. What a stupid word, really. It makes me think of prestige and as someone having clout… but that’s not what she’s about.
She’s a writer who allows her own vulnerability to shine through in order to encourage other creatives. That in, and of itself, is very special, but it’s the way she talks (her fave work is fuck 🤷🏻♀️) and ever-so-gently nudges the creative to act on their own behalf to step out of their comfort zone.
Why am I telling you all this?
Well, I wanted to tell you all to remember to go easy on yourself. Being a writer is tough…
HUH? I just heard you all raise your eyebrows in puzzlement! “I’m not a writer though,” you say…
Well, think about this…
I bet you’re a reader and/or consumer of written content… Of course you are… we all are.
All of those words we read, fill us with imagination, images, and direction… what we choose to do with them is up to us.
Never doubt your own power–even as a reader you still carry influence.
I just want you to know and remember that writers’ are vulnerable beings who often work in isolation.
They think-talk (I just invented that ‘word’ and I like it) to themselves (I know I do—alllll the time) and believe me, it’s not always in a very positive manner.
So in the spirit of a Wonderful, Whimsical,Weird, and of course Wacky Wednesday, lets move forward with a realization and recognition for the writer and creative sides in all of us.
Um… I’d say go hug a writer… but you’d probably get punched… just saying… 😳

Have a great day everyone. I’m so happy to see you here. Let me know your thoughts on todays post. Seriously. I want to hear from you.

Hug your inner-writer…. 😉
If Amy’s favourite word is the F bomb, I don’t think I will watch or listen to her. I’m not a prude, but to hear a woman say it over and over again grates on my nerves for some reason. I started watching a movie and the woman used the F bomb three times in one sentence. I think about the days where the point of a movie would get across without swearing and people would say it was a fantastic movie. I watched Adele doing her show, and at one point she was talking to the audience about her teenage son. The crowd listens quietly, but when she said, if I tell my son to do this, he tells me to F off . The crowd thought it was so funny. And I don’t think it’s because I’m an old lady. It’s just I can’t help wondering if their vocabulary is lacking for other words.
Hi Heather. I completely understand where you’re coming from. I know a woman who is around 80 and every second word out of her mouth is the f-bomb…. Yes. Seriously. It is the biggest turnoff if such circumstances. I think what’s happened with so many words that are expletives is that they’ve lost their power. Does that make sense? With Amy, the Instagram lady I’m talking about, she probably around 30 and goes to the beat of her own drum…. Me? I love a good f-bomb every once in a while. It’s great for emphasis but can def lose it’s power when over used. RE: the Adele thing… I’d be ticked if my kid told me to f-off. I guess it’s all in the delivery.
Phew… Heather, you know I love you. You need to do you! That’s what makes you special. My reference to the Instagram thing was more in the way that she inspired something in me that I wanted to share. You definitely do not need to follow or read her stuff. No way. No how. Huge hugs to you. I hope all is well. 🥰
Great to see you posting! I do “like” this post 🙂 Just having a hard time finding the “like” button, LOL!
Whhhhhhaaaattttt? No “like” button… lol. I guess I better take a look and see what’s going on.
In all seriousness Norma, it feels good to be back writing and sharing. There are so many readers that I really care about and it’s been too long.
Thanks for commenting and “liking”…lol. ❤️
I love this! Definitely need to work on being kinder to myself and giving myself grace in this crazy, hazy period of my life!
Hey Erin! Yes. Give yourself a break. You’re at that stage of life where it can be really easy to put everyone else first. Babies and kidlets keep a mom going but it’s the mom keeping them going… lol. Otherwise nothing would get done 😉. Drink in the experience… goes by so fast and I’ve read your stuff… believe me, you’ll be get back to the desk soon enough (or more often)…Grace is key. Hope all is well. Nice to see you here. 😍
