On a recent trip to Scotland, I had the opportunity to just sit by the river and listen to nature.
The setting was idyllic as though from a travel brochure.
The pic below (yes, those are my muddy boots) is actually a video so make sure you listen for the full affect (it’s only 8 seconds).
I find the quiet of nature to be calming and powerful.
If you really listen… it’s not quiet at all, but I find the sounds of rushing water, chirping birds, and the talking of trees to be truly soul soothing.
I wrote this short poem. I hope you like it.

We say it’s quiet until we really listen.
My quiet time is when I’m the first one up in the morning. I go out side in our backyard and sit on the swing. It…seems…so quiet even though I can hear traffic, maybe a dog barking or birds chirping. It’s a totally different feeling than when everyone is up and start their day. It’s all about those few moments alone in the early morning air.
Hi Heather! I love this. Morning silence is so special. ❤️
