My Twisted Writer Brain…

Call For Submissions for Family Friendly Positive Poetry–Auroras and Blossoms

Here we are at the end of April already! We’re winding up Poetry Month 2021 and I hope you’ve written a ton!

A few days ago I received a letter that I decided I’d share with you.

David Ellis and I co-founded Auroras & Blossoms in 2019 to promote positive, uplifting and inspirational written and visual art, and give artists (ages 13 and over) of all levels a platform where they can showcase their work and build their publishing credits.

We run regular submission calls for digital anthologies, a monthly show, a year-long artistic movement, and an artist collective. The content is fully family-friendly. We have also created several artistic forms.

We are currently seeking submissions for three anthologies: two for adult artists and one  just for 13-16 year old creatives. Adults only: We charge a small submission fee, but offer ongoing royalties to selected artists.

Types of art: short stories, six word stories, flash fiction, essays, photography, drawings, paintings, photography, and poetry.

For more information, visit https://abpoetryjournal.com/submit/. Click Here.

You can check out some of the submissions on Amazon as the first two anthologies have been digitally published.

Be aware that there is a nominal submission fee and even with royalties, you’re not going to get a huge cheque anytime soon. Do your due diligence and make your decision.

I think I may send a couple of poems in for consideration. Hey, you never know, right?

I’ve never met David Ellis or co-founder Cendrine Marrouat, so this isn’t a personal endorsement so much as it is sharing and passing on of a message. I will say though, that I enjoyed their site and the different types of poetry they discuss. Very interesting.

Remember to keep me in the loop and let me know what happens. Don’t hesitate to send me a note if you want something discussed on my blog. Take care. Talk soon. Happy Writing.

Quick note: We have receive a lot of poetry and are now giving priority to other genres, to ensure we have a good variety of art for our PoArtMo Anthology.
