Keep Track of All the Writing Contests You Enter

I love writing contests but I tend to be a bit sloppy with my organization.

If you’re anything like me, I plan and think about writing contest for a long time and then enter at the last minute. Sigh…

This leaves me scrambling to scribble things down on a paper that I’ll probably toss. So get yourself organized for the 2022 writing contest season.

Here’s a free tracker that you can use. It’s my gift to you.

Why Enter Writing Contest?

I get this question a lot and my main answer is I enter writing contests because they’re fun, challenging, and they give me a sense of accomplishment.

Also: Writing Contests can also…

  • Add to your resume/CV.
  • Give you industry recognition.
  • Push your creative limits.
  • Allow for a sense of pride.
  • Give you a break away from your ordinary writing.
  • Let’s you dream of winning.

You can make a writing contest about anything you want.

Here are a few contests that will open in the first couple of months of 2022. Put them in your Contest Tracker and make sure you submit on time. I hope you never miss a deadline again.

What writing contests would you recommend? Please let me know in the comments.

Contests for Anyone:

Writers’ Digest: Short Short has been extended to mid January 2022.

Word on the Lake The window for this contest is short… only a few weeks and closes at the end of January. Get ready.

Surrey International Writers’ Conference: Opens in April 2022.

Remember, not all contests are created equal.

Do Your Homework Before Entering.

Read Writing Contests: The Don’t’s, The Do’s, and The Accolades.

And most of all…

Have fun.

Good Luck!
