It’s a busy time of year.
Kids are going back to school. The weather is changing. Life is happening all around us, within us, and to us.
I liken September to the beginning of a new year. It’s now that I’d prefer to make new goals and manage the expectations of everyday life.

In Canada, we begin the month with the first Monday being Labour Day.
The last long weekend of the summer…
A sure signal that school is about to begin … and a reminder of the history of labour and how far we’ve come and still have to go.

September 11th… babies born on that fateful day are turning 22!
That seems unreal.
Do kids today know the significance of September 11th, 2001? or is it lost?

And let’s not forget that September is Suicide Prevention Month.
Make sure you talk with those around you and check in with those who are alone.
TalkSuicide.ca is a great resource for those in need and for those who need someone to connect with.

September is also the time for the Wine Country Writers’ Festival which brings writers together to build community and connection. Below is a picture of myself and Jim Jackson my Co-Director.
