My oh May…It’s Almost March!
I seriously have absolutely no excuse for being away so long.
Sometimes life gets in the way of doing what we want to do and other times, doing what we want ends up being forced down the priority list, if you know what I mean?! 🤦🏻♀️
I hope you’re well and staying out of trouble… or perhaps having a wee bit of fun by getting into trouble. lol
Me? What have I been doing? Well, I wouldn’t do this for just anyone but for you I’ll make a quick list…
- walking the dog. That’s a priority right now… not for the dog (though she’s important too), but for me. I’ll share that story with you later.
- went on a small vacay with hubby. That was good. Did lotsa walking. 😉
- waiting on final edits for my novel… yes! it is going to happen. I seriously think you’re gonna love my book. The main characters’ name is Leslie and she’s a bit of a mess… Okay, she’s a huge mess but she’s also believable and relatable. I’ll be sharing more about her for sure.
- I’ve been reading… a lot.
- and listening to audio books… while I walk.
- applying for grants for the Wine Country Writers’ Festival Society… Let me tell ya… that’s like a full time job. It’s very involved and time consuming and then of course there’s no guarantee of what you applied for, you’ll actually get… which in turn makes planning and paying for a Festival a real juggle.
- oh and of course there’s always the tech stuff. Sometimes I feel like I spend my entire day figuring out how-to send stuff, or upload it, or share it, or blah blah blah…I’m sure you know what I mean. With this it’s just tough because it’s such a time suck.
Okay, that’s enough whining.
Life is busy, not just for me, but for everyone.
It often feels like the only down time I give my brain is the reading time… but let’s not discount the walking time too, I guess.
My brain is saturated at this point and I feel like I’m spinning my wheels.
I was going to do a newsletter today to all my subscribers and was informed that the mailer platform that I use, deleted my entire list and account. This is devastating.
Apparently I didn’t respond to their emails about upgrading… It’s tough because there’s so many scams and junk email… Ugh. Ugh. and Double ugh.
There’s nothing I can do except start from scratch –which I’ll think about later.
You may wonder why a newsletter is so important for a writer and I’ll tell you that it’s my only direct link to my readers and supporters.
I have some pre-book gifts for my readers and will only give those away via a newsletter. Sp*m laws are very clear and strict and I can’t just sent things out willy-nilly…. Not to worry though… I will persevere.
There’s been a lot of things–both good and bad–happening lately and I wanted to share a bright spot via this video below… I apologize for my messy hair. lol.
It’s just a short story about a recent event. Take a look and let me know your thoughts.
Thanks so much for stopping by and reading my post. Follow and Comment Below.
There is a place at the back of Spall Mall that fixes phones. We’ve used his services a few times.
Glad you’re back. Been missing you.
Ah thanks Sally!! Right back atcha. My screen saver actually saved me! I’ll never go without one now. 🥰
aha! Not having a cell phone, I was wondering what you meant by a screen saver … as on my computer a screen saver is software that puts the screen to “sleep” when it is not being used for a period of time … so I looked up “screen saver” you talk about in your entertaining little video … and found out that it is usually called a screen protector, and is available in either plastic or glass…. So, my new bit of knowledge of the day 🙂 (In case I ever get around to getting a cell phone, LOL!).
lol. Well there you go! I just learned something. I guess i felt “saved” by my screen protector. lol.
Hey Faye . I really enjoy your blogs.
You always have interesting things to say and say it so well.
Love the screen saver video story.
My iPhone face is cracked too. I do have a screen saver. So I think I better check it out. Maybe, just maybe the face underneath is okay. Got my fingers crossed 🤞
Oh my fingers are crossed for you Bryan. I was shocked when they took it off and my screen was unscathed! Shocked and elated!!
Make sure you sign up for my newsletter! 😊
Welcome back! You have been missed <3
Thanks Erin! It’s been a heck of a few months. Can’t wait to check out your blog! xo
