May really got away on me, but if I were to be truly honest… It always gets away from me.
How did we get to be almost half way through June already? Before you know it, the guy in the red suit is gonna start showing up in our feeds. Ugh….
So how was your May?
Mine was pretty fab to tell you the truth. Here are some pix.

It’s been a month of promo for my book, but I also got to travel to Montreal to attend the second annual Montreal Mystery Festival.
It was so fun and I met some amazing people.
I’m not familiar with Montreal so weighed all the options that the organizers provided as far as accommodation and I made the decision to stay in student housing at McGill University.
Well, there’s nothing like having a bunch of young people nearby to bolster your energy, but… the bed was like four feet off the floor.
I should’ve taken a pic… Dang, why didn’t I take a pic?
When you see the layout of the room, it makes sense… they put dresser drawers/storage under the bed to maximize space.
I kept thinking of my mom who was just under five feet tall… she wouldn’t have been able to climb up. Made me kinda chuckle to myself actually.
It was an experience for sure, but I learned rather quickly that it was quite a distance from the main venue.
Staying at, or near, a venue when you’re attending an event is important for networking and connection. It affords opportunities like that late night cocktail or a really early coffee meeting… stuff like that. A reminder to self… beds more than 2.5 feet off the floor are now off the agenda. 😂
This month was also a time to sell some books up at the Kelowna Indigo. I met some of the nicest readers. I’m so looking forward to hearing what they have to say after they read my book.
If you missed me, the store has copies so you can purchase there.
In May, I also put some of my books into Community Libraries to be found and hopefully appreciated. That was really kinda fun and made use of some copies that arrived ever-so-slightly damaged. It made a positive out of a negative… yay.
I did manage to take a break for a game or two of Scrabble… 🤦🏻♀️. Ugh… crazy letters. If you’re guessing that I didn’t win, you’d be correct.
In May, I pulled off a coffee date or two with friends. Another Yay!
Overall, a great month that’s now in the history books.
Let me know what’s happening in your Twisted Writer Brain world…
