Well, we’re already a week into October, but that doesn’t make it any less spectacular.
Here in the valley of southern British Columbia where I live, it’s been unseasonably warm. There was even a late starting wild-fire that popped up last week. Residents were displaced, but are now back home and the fire is under control. Phew.
This coming week, the temps are dropping and I can finally bring out the sweatshirts and hoodies. Yay… happy dance.
Fall, to me, feels more like the true beginning of the year.
Kids go back to school, we’re rested up from summer, and a sense of freedom and hope is in the air…that could be the pumpkin spiced latte I just consumed but for today I’ll call it hope 😉… or…perhaps it’s just October.
As you know, I’ve had a very busy year and now is a time to stay a bit closer to home and begin to pay some attention to the nest.
Maybe unpack the suitcase and straighten up the desk… or perhaps not.
Who knows what tomorrow holds. There’s books that need writing and songs to be sung. Let’s live a little… said the cranky writer who’s been wanting to be home, but we’ll see what happens.

Every weekend was jam-packed with signings, markets, festivals and soooo many people. It was wonderfully exhausting and I’d do it all over again.
As September is now long gone, I look forward to October and am open to embrace what comes my way… within reason, of course.😆
