Don’t you love it how life just keeps right on giving?
Like consider the Toronto Blue Jays, for example.
Here you have an underdog team who fought their way up the ranks and now find themselves in the World Series that starts tonight.
That, in and of itself, is pretty frikken cool, but you also have to realize that the Blue Jays are the only professional baseball team in all of Canada (all other teams are based in the U.S.)
So does this World Series then become like the infamous Canada/US hockey games? idk, but it should prove to be interesting and I must say I’m looking forward to it.
Funny Story… 🤦🏻♀️
Just last week, it was Game 7 of the regular baseball season and the winner of the Seattle Mariners (who I’d totally cheer for if Toronto wasn’t in it) and Toronto Blue Jays game would advance to the World Series against the LA Dodgers.
Hubby and I wanted to watch the game.
I did a quick subscription to a sports streaming service and ta da… we were all ready to watch.
Well! The commentators were all flipping French.
OMG…. i fiddled with that damn thing for hours trying to find an English setting … In the end we muted the game (sorry if you’re a francophone… it was just too too much for my English brain) and cheered en Englais. lol.
Great game.
Probably watch en francais tonight!
And yes. I will be cancelling the streaming service that I mistakenly purchased.
Aren’t We All a Little Neuro-divergent? 🤓
I cope with things like lack of focus and indecision every single day.
Some may call this ADHD… I call it me and while I’m not fidgety or ‘hyper’ physically, it’s my brain that never, ever stops…
Oi. The last few weeks have been a challenge for sure.
I have a manuscript that I need to send away, but am avoiding it to the point of self-sabotage.
That’s not a good thing and it’s even worse when you recognize it within yourself. The imposter syndrome kicks in and the whole ( or should I say hole?), questioning game of why bother? who cares? no one’ll read it anyway… or it’s so stupid so why do it?… yup that game begins looping through the brain and doesn’t stop. On and on… Oi.
It really is exhausting.
Many will say, get over it… and while it’s very easy to tell someone to just go do it… get it done, that is not reality.
That’s like telling someone to stop smoking/drugs. 🤯 or to just give up on sugar all together. 🙀 or just frikken get out of your own way or to start liking cauliflower after a lifetime of loathing the horrid pale veggie 😆… It just doesn’t work that way.
Whether we like to admit it or not, we’re all a wee bit quirky 🤡 and I’m here to tell you that it’s okay to doubt yourself so long as you keep believing.
Don’t you love the word quirky? Neurodivergent sounds so clinical… I like quirky, nut bar (or nutter 😉), or loopy-twisted brain… I find titles matter, but labels just cover up some of the real magic. Find your truth and embrace it.
I know I’m a good writer. I also know that I write different than anyone, and everyone, else. Knowing that keeps me going.
So Did You See My Little Story on Instagram? Here’s the Crux: Be More Like Carl. 🤩

This is Carl.
In the spring of 2025 I did an author signing at the Langley Indigo store and Carl very kindly purchased my book. Fast forward six months and I’m doing another signing in Langley and who shows up but Carl…
But Wait… Here’s what he did…
He walked in the door, saw me and my book table and shouted
“I’ve read that book! I loved it,” he said “I couldn’t put it down!” and he rushed right over to say hello.
I wanted to cry.
There is nothing nicer or more validating you can say to an author!
Thank you Carl! You seriously made my day. 😊

Okay. The World Series 2025 is about to begin. Good luck to both teams but GO JAYS GO!
Thanks for stopping in to read my post. I really enjoy having you here. Go buy my book and let me know your thoughts. And be kind to yourself… it seriously pays off in the end.
Talk soon.
I care. And I’ll read it. Good luck to taking the next step.
Your posts are uplifting even when you doubt yourself. I’ve been holding off publishing my blog for the same reasons you gave. You’ve given me a nudge to do it.
Thanks Cheryl!
So glad to hear that a wee nudge grabbed hold. I think it was also a kick in the butt got me too. Go for it! I’m going to! 😊
Ooh… I love the word quirky too! I even wrote a poem that focused on it!
Ha ha!! I love it. Thanks Norma. ❤️😊
