Phew! I made it… 2026! And we’re already four days in. I intentionally waited to do my first post of the year because I knew you’d all be inundated by all the other stuff being thrown at you.

Hey! I’m serious.

So many start the new year like frikken little gang-busters only to fizzle out a couple of weeks later because you’ve done too much. I can promise you here and now, that will never be the case for me. I’ll allllllways show up, but I probably won’t be the first through the door.

It’s great to see you survived the busy holiday season and I will say… Happy New Year.

Apparently now people are no longer making resolutions, they’re stating intentions… yeah… really changes it for me (ummm no!).

Just do YOU and it’ll all be great. As you’ve probably guessed, I havent’ done a whole lot this year but I’ve had a really good laugh at my own expense on New Year’s Day.

Here’s what happened. I took my dog down to the local park for a stroll. She likes to pick up her sniffy mail and leave a few answers willy-nilly (if you have a dog you’ll get that…). So, it was a very chilly morning.

In the back of the car I keep all the dog stuff and all my possible walking needs. I donned a toque, scarf, double gloves and tucked in against the wind and took off walking. Down the lane, I see a woman coming toward me.

When she reaches me, she says: “Oh my God, you made my day!”

We hadn’t even exchanged pleasantries so I wasn’t sure what my super-power actually was.

She continues: “You dressed like an elf just for the day, right? It’s so cute…”

Huh? An elf? What’s this cray-cray lady talking about. This is what she saw:

From a distance she thought the scarf was a beard and that I’d dressed up to look like an elf for my New Year’s Day walk. lol… Too funny.

That stranger lady ended up making my day as it made me smile ’cause if I squint (and perhaps from a distance), I do look like an elf!

Like I said, just do you! I works every single time.
