The air is filled with a little bit of mystery, some murder, and oh don’t forget the mayhem of me trying to get to the flipping airport on time.
Bouchercon, here I come!
Heading to Calgary to see my fellow writers, readers and friends because there’s nothing better than being surrounded by people who think serial killers, murder, and deceit are perfectly acceptable dinner conversation! It is so over-the-top fun and exciting.

Let’s face it… these are my people and it doesn’t get much better than this.
If you happen to be one of the 1500ish people attending the event, here’s my schedule. Please come say Hi. I’ll be doing book signings too so if you have a copy of one of my books, bring it along or you can buy a copy from the festival book store.
So, apparently, two books weren’t enough.
Oh my goodness. I’m not sure why I do this to myself…
So, starting in November, myself and an author friend will be selling our books at Christmas Markets (I know. I know… Haven’t even done Halloween yet and I’m already talking about tinsel and trees. Sigh…)
Both my friend and I have two books each. I decided in my ultimate wisdom that I wanted to have something else to offer buyers, so yup, you guessed it…. I set out to design, write, and publish a set of three prompt books that people could get for the writers (or wannabe writers) in their life. Here’s what I came up with:

One little idea turned into me developing three writing prompt book collection! I finished the first two and then ran out of time. STORY HAPPENS will simply have to wait until Bouchercon is done.
It probably won’t make it to the first market of the season, but whaddya do? The first two will be on Amazon in the next few days and the entire set will be done before the end of the month.
It was a bit of a passion project and I actually had a lot of fun.
Meanwhile, inside my twisted writer brain...
Tomorrow, I’ll hit Calgary running. I arrive after lunch and then at 3pm I’m sitting on a panel followed by a book signing. This will probably all happen before I even get into my hotel room. All good though!
The panel discussion is called Delayed Redemption which is what my books are all about. The sequel to Can You See Me? which is currently titled What You Didn’t See is coming along nicely… A couple of the characters have been trying to fight against my sage advice as though I don’t have enough on my plate.
A little spooky business back home… 👻
A free event: Spooky Readings at the Library in Summerland October 27 from 6-8 pm. This is a group of writers/authors sharing some scary stories. It is light and fun. Don’t miss it. I’ll be there. You can even buy a book while hangin’ out. (probably not suitable for the wee ones) 🧙🏼♀️🎃
And here’s the first Christmas Market date... 🎅🏼
I couldn’t very well mention it and then not provide the details. The market is called The Yuletide Market and the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre. This is the largest Holiday market in the south Okanagan. Friday November 6, 7, 8., 2026. Come see me. It’ll be fun and festive.
It seemed like a good idea….
I’ve been working on some themes for my newsletter/blog and this is the one I wanna talk about today.
If you don’t know already, my brain never stops and you’d be flabbergasted by how many things “sound” like a good idea when my brain is fragmented already into several projects or it could be lamenting the vote off on the previous nights Survivor.
It’s all spinning… just like me… is what I’m saying.
You know those prompt books, I had no plans (or real need) to put them together, but this week I’ve studied more about fonts and formatting than I ever wanted to. My brain was fixated on finishing.
So, what seemed like a good idea at the time is now a ‘we’ll see’ or ‘time will tell’. Can anyone relate to that?
I guess the one good thing was that I actually finished. Phew.
Alrighty, I best go see if there’s any room left in my suitcase for clothes 🤦🏻♀️. Like seriously, between books and swag and miscellaneous stuff… I may have to wear the same clothes for a week! Ewwwww…. 😂… If you’re new here… I’m kidding. I really am. 😉
Have a great week everyone. See you soon. Remember to go review a book for an author and when reading, always use a bookmark (or a sock. A sock will work for anything… ).
Pet of the Week… Here’s Piper after our walk. She’s all smiles and then slept all day. lol.

Thanks for stopping by. I really like having you here. Remember to follow below, like and comment. See you soon.
