Well, it’s been a hell of a ride over the last week.

Most of you know I got trapped near Vancouver as the major road systems leading to the interior were cut off by landslides, washouts, and floods.
After a few too many days thinking the situation would clear up, I decided to drive through the USA (Washington State to be exact) and enter the middle of British Columbia that way.

For those of you who don’t know, the Canadian/US border just reopened after a prolonged closure due to covid. Well, let me qualify that, the Americans could come through the land border if doubled vaxxed but the US wouldn’t let Canadian drive through (??) until as recently as ten days ago.
Unless I’m traveling internationally, I don’t take my passport. This trip was going to be different. My husband sent me a picture of my passport which the US customs looked at on my phone, while the Canadian customs looked at my driver’s license and that was it.
There were no questions about vaccines etc.
The drive took me just over nine hours. The Pacific Northwest is one of my favorite places on earth.
I love the freshness of the mountains, the green, and vastness. People are kind and generous and drive well. lol.
I hope you didn’t miss any of my posts this week.
